I don't understand why people make fun of your final baby name choices. I'm an artist, I carefully made that decision lol. It's not like I'm naming them Muffin or Cheeze.
When I was pregnant we agreed on the name Zane.. After a few months I decided to go with Owen. But it took a long process to get there. Every name I had picked to choose from, I was getting told no constantly. When I finally settled with Owen, my grandma says I can’t because she can’t come up with a nick name for it, and can’t call him anything short. Well, considering his name is Owen, how much shorter do you need to go? People don’t like it, but others do. Don’t worry about the ones who are against it. Follow YOU and what YOU want ❤️
We have only told two people our name (because I know my family will over use it and I will get sick of it before he’s born and I will be stuck without a name again) as soon as we told second person he said “that’s a rich kid name” and I don’t know why but that bothers me so much. I don’t think he meant anything by it and I’m sure I’ll forget about it because I do like the name but yeah it sucks
@bbyzvcy18 What hurts the most is that they're already making fun of the name, so if you decide on it then it's to discourage you from using it? But I'm naming the kid what I want to name it and you should too. I doubt that people will make fun of it in their age group or class in the future.
@moorepamela454 They did the same with Ollivander and kept trying to come up with other name ideas. Then it turned into a game and I just wanted to leave after that. :|
@moorepamela454 we've also picked Declan for this baby! My dad made fun of the name and it definitely hurt. He totally jumped past the middle name John. Which is his father's name and his middle name and that is why we choose it for the baby. Broke my heart. People are jerks. No one has really liked any of our names. Hasn't stopped us from using them. We love them and I think they are a perfect fit for out boys. We have Jensen Daniel, Kallan William and this baby Declan John. 💙💙💙
So true... I decided to name my son Linus Yang.
First, people thought i was weird for not giving him a middle name... i guess it's just a preference?.?.?. Second, they would think it sounded like Lion-Ness or is pronounced Liiiii-nus. But no, it's more Lie-Nus.
Third, then they'll say something like "LIE-ness, why LIE?"
OMG, it gets so annoyong but i can careless. If i had the oppurtunity to make fun of their babies names like how they did me they'd be crying!
@heilwife317 Wow I can't believe they would think that lol.
I chose Ollivander for a boy and my husbands family hates it apparently. They can't get over the Olive sounding part. Lol. But they'll get over it I hope. My intention was to make our kids names unrelated to our families names. We wanted to have are kids feeling unique and proud to have their own name so they can build history for themselves.
I'm sorry that is rude. What did you chose? We are dealing with the fact that we picked a name due to my heritage and everyone think we picked it after my hubbys friend instead. *face palm!*
