Hey everyone! So I had another doctor appointment today and if I don't have my baby today or tomorrow, I will be induced Wednesday morning. My OB was explaining they would insert a little pill into my cervix to induce labor, I was just curious if anyone had that and what their experience was like? Or even if you've been induced in general! Thanks in advance ☺

@leia_nicole, Yea I was so nervous about the pitocin too :/ I wish I could let things happen naturally, I’m hoping this time around my body will kind of know what to do and I can at least dilate or something on my own haha and before 39 weeks. I’m not saying it’s easy, but it’s definitely doable. Kudos to you for even thinking about it. I went into it thinking I was going to get one, and then I got the news that they won’t give me one because of the bleeding risk for myself. The pain med they gave me was stadol and it was pretty much like benedryl. It quickly knocked me out for like an hour only and each dose I felt less and less. I’m not one to take pain meds frequently unless I absolutely need it, so I thought I had a pretty high pain tolerance lol but birth is no joke. I’m sure if you have a good support system, you will be able to follow through without an epidural 😊

@leia_nicole I never knew what pitocin was but I heard it made contractions stronger. Also I felt like I could've made it without the epidural until the guy that does it came in and was like if you don't get in now then you'd have to wait til I'm done with all the other women to get it and it kinda scared me lol but this time I'm pushing through, no epidural and talking to my doctor tomorrow about weather or not Ill need an induction this time around.

I had that pill inserted too. A few hours later my water broke. I did have to have pitocin. I was having terrible contractions and stuck at a 4. When I finally gave in to the epidural it wasn’t even an hour later I was fully dilated.

I was induced with my first but we had sex the night before because I wanted Jesiah to come on his own and didn't want to stress him and they break his bag and to our surprise my water broke an hour before induction time, they just gave me pitocin to start contractions about two hours later but that's all. I slept 11 hours I was in labor lmao and the 12th hour when they positioned me with my legs open to help lower him is when they noticed that he was sliding into the birth canal so we began active labor. Wasn't all that bad until pushing time I was so exhausted I just wanted to sleep instead of push lmao. I got an epidural, couldn't feel my contractions but was able to move my legs, just felt like heavy semi numb sausages lmao.

@megs03 I was worried it would be pitocin, not too excited for that 😕 I wanted to try to have a delivery without an epidural too, was it bearable for you? Granted I know everyone is different, it's all just going to happen so fast and I want to try to be more mentally prepared!

I was induced with my first, but my body was no where near ready. They had to soften my cervix first and that took about 24 hours. They gave me Cytotec I believe it’s called but I took it orally. That was the easy part. Once that was done, they started pitocin to bring on the contractions and that was rough :/ hopefully your body responds better. The first few hours were fine but I guess the contractions were coming too quickly and they had to lower it. I also can’t receive an epidural due to medical reasons. I’m sure my experience isn’t very common! Hopefully yours goes smoother 😊 I cannot go into labor on my own due to medical reasons so I had to be induced at 39 weeks
