Trying for a 2nd time. Advice please.

Well I am only 12 weeks pregnant but with my daughter I tried bf her and she wouldn't latch on right, made my beasts bleed and I gave up and ff her. I want to try again with this baby but I'm not sure where to start once I do start. I will be returning to work once the baby is born after my 6 weeks is up. Can I immediately start pumping once baby is born? Do I have to wait ? I intend on buying a breast pump but I'm not sure when you pump and when you actually let the baby feed off your breast. When my daughter was born I asked to see a lactation consultant and they never sent her in to see me. I asked multiple times.

I don't pump, so I'm not too familiar with it, but I know of moms who started pumping right away. To me, I'd be worried about oversupply since that is when baby is really starting to build your supply and your body is really adjusting. But, again, I never pumped much. I would try pumping after feeds & then if the baby goes long stretches sleeping, pump to make up those feedings (most newborns are nursing every 1-2 hours).
