I took on a new job role also in October was thinking about putting ttc off for a while but ended up ttc still and still haven't got my bfp, it can take a while so I would just keep trying. As long as you have he other job to go back to everything should work out fine, just do what you feel is best for your family gl x
They might not be happy, but it isn't their life and they will have to accept it either way. Follow your heart. You can always play the "I swear i wasn't trying and somehow got pregnant on birth control" approach ;) lol
