How to Minimize Bruising from Lovenox Injections?

Yeah, anticoagulants can suck. I bruise easily and the best method I have for reducing the bruise at the injection site is:

1. Once you have the needle in, let go of the skin surrounding it (that you would have pinched to get needle in)

2. Count to 30 before pulling the needle out

3. Pull the needle out very slowly

4. Ice the injection area for 10 to 15 mins.

I'm on them and I bruise every time. It's normal with those injections unfortunately

I did 8 transfers and did lovenox for about half of them. Never had any issue at all and only bruised a couple of times. It stung for a bit after but that's all.
