help..breast pain

While not nursing? When I nurse I will feel my boob tighten up and just feel sore then it goes away, I'm guessing that's my let down right? Well the past few weeks I've noticed that while I'm not nursing my boobs will suddenly feel tight and they start to hurt like pins and needles. Sometimes I have to rub them and then the feeling goes away... Imagine me just rubbing my boobs in the grocery isle cause they hurt and everyone looking at me like? .. Anyways what can that be? Is it normal? I have no fever, chills, vomiting, or red nipps.

I thought it was baby taking in more and suckling harder. So that was the boob getting use to it. Lol

Oh yes, I have rubbed my boobs going down the isle. I try to do it discretely but if they hurt rub them. Lol. Just to be on the safe side... check your boobs out in a mirror. Make sure there isn't any puckering, redness, odd dips and touch them for heat. Arms above your head and down. Also, make sure your bra is NOT underwrite while breast feeding (cuts off flow and circulation and is the correct fit. Otherwise, when in doubt contact your lactation consultant.

I always thought let down felt like the pins and needles.
After I was done breastfeeding, like even years later, I would still feel let down sometimes. No more milk or anything, but still feel it a couple times a month. I don't know why.
Hearing a baby cry or thinking of your little one or seeing a baby can do it.
