Today, I sat on a prior seating on bart train (subway). My pregnancy is 18weeks. As the baby bump is getting bigger, I’ve felt my back hurts.
Then, a middle aged looking woman said to me “Excuse me. You should yield the seat to the senior”( there was an old lady next to her) So I said “But I’m pregnant” she said “Sorry” but then another guy asked me “It’s a federal law blah blah (I’m pregnant) balh blah” and the middle aged lady told him “she said she’s pregnant”
There was a normal young guy who seated on a prior seating, but they didn’t even ask him to yield a seat to the old lady.
And the middle aged woman kept talking about pregnancy to the old lady “they contribute to the world-“(it sounded sarcastic to me)
She kept talking until I get off “we don’t know if it’s real pregnancy blah blah” (what on earth is real pregnancy??? Is there a real/fake pregnancy??)
I don’t know if she refered to me or not. I might have misunderstood what she was talking, because I tried not to pay attention to her, and English is not my first language. but I felt like she seems rude to talk about pregnancy in front of me, though I already told her I have a reason to seat there.
I just want people to know that the bumps would not look obvious during the first trimester, and actually that’s the most hard time for pregnant women n should be careful, because morning sickness is awful n the pregnancy is most unstable among whole pregnancy.
So, plz don’t fall right into assuming that the young rude woman sits on the prior seating when u see them on the subway before asking if they r pregnant.
Has it ever happen to u, too?
