Daughter is 16 months old and running out of leg room rear facing. Any one flip em around before the 2 year mark?

There’s plenty of things she can do with her legs. Her bones aren’t ready for the impact of a car accident forward facing. Rather have broken leg/legs than something much worse. She can sit Indian style, one leg on each side of the car seat, with her feet together and knees bent. SO many things and she’ll definitely be able to make herself comfortable.

Leg room doesn’t matter. It’s from the top of the head to an inch under the top of the seat. Depending which state you live in there are laws on how long you have to rear face. But recommended is 2 years but the longer the better. We have the extend to fit which rear faces up to 50 pounds and 40”. Babies bones aren’t fully developed even after two years and if forward facing it could really injure them in a crash. I’m in two car seat groups on Facebook that help a lot with questions and installs if you want them to get some more insight on the law in your state or other factors

You can have her sit criss cross or with her legs slightly bent. It may look uncomfortable but kids usually don't mind. And even if she looks squished it's safer than forward facing, so long as she is within the height and weight limits for rear facing in her seat 😊
