So my daughter is 3 weeks old and I'm breastfeeding. She went from eating every 2 to 3 hours to wanting to nurse every 40 minutes to an hour. I know that's her way of saying she needs more and my body should be upping production but I'm not. I can pump an ounce if I'm lucky. It's been this way for a week and a half and she never seems full. Hearing her cry breaks my heart. When do I know if I need to supplement? I want to supplement now but my husband thinks we should wait it out. It's really discouraging. 😔💔

@kelcyfreese yes I agree with @vamommy89 I felt the same way at first, I would pump & not much would come out & I thought that was how much milk I was making but no that's not true. I know it's hard not to worry & you overthink stuff but like vamommy89 said if she has enough dirty diapers she's okay. Plus babies cry it's normal, it might not be that she's hungry maybe she just wants to comfort feed. My baby still does at night

@vamommy89 thanks so much. Granted, I'm still an emotional wreck but it helps hearing someone else giving encouraging advice! ❤

@vamommy89 it's so discouraging and frustrating and I know I'm probably just really hormonal but it's making it super hard to do anything. 😔 I'm trying to pump and make a stockpile so my hubby can help me feed her but I can't pump without worrying about cutting into one of her feedings. It's hard seeing other women pumping like 4 to 6 oz. In one session when it takes me all day to pump 5 ounces. It's almost putting me in tears writing this out as dumb as that sounds.
