It sucks to hear its going to be hard for me to work at hospitals because of my tattoos. I hope I can achieve my goal as a labor and delivery nurse 💔💔 Sucks we still live in a society where tattoos and professionalism don't coincide. My tattoos literally have nothing to do with how well I can do my job as a medical assistant nor do they define me as a person, but I guess I can't change the world and how they view tattoos. 😔🤦🏼♀️ I'm not gonna let it stop me from being the best I can be wherever I end up working. 💁🏼♀️
@alekismyworld mhmm not everyone thinks about their future or careers when they first get their tattoos. I am able to cover all mine up as well, and like someone said, I can always wear long sleeves and cover my hand tattoos.
If the employer discriminated against race, national origin, religion, ethnicity or gender, all those things fall under a protected group. And if they discriminate the federal government can sue them. However, it does not sound like what you're talking about. No employer can be sued for having bad taste. You can put a feather in your head, states like a dragon, have purple hair. It doesn't mean they have to hire you because you may look like someone who has mental issues or doesn't make patients feel comfortable. Having a tattoo where it's easily covered is fine because it doesn't offend anyone and is not seen. You represent the company you work for. And any employer seeks best representation the can find. I have tattoos myself but I didn't get them knowing I'm going to want to be a nurse or work in a field where I can offend someone in any way. The bright side to this is; if you want to work in a medical field you can work in a marijuana dispensary. I hope you find a job and get hired somewhere where you desire to work but the image you give yourself has an impact on people around you when it comes down to work. But goodluck love 😘 wish you the best😊
Fuck hospitals. Maybe try for private birthing centers. Corporate jobs are stupid and never give you what you're worth.
@tattooedbaylove11713 yeah I know. That's why I said I hope I find the right hospital
@nitarose070793 thank you so much. I think it's cool too because ppl judge me so quick because of my tattoos and then they find out I'm in the Army and a medical assistant and they look at me different lol
@nitarose070793 yeah I had zero when I enlisted into the army. Right now they would say HELL NO if I wanted to join lol.
@mommabear1517 i agree. And thank you:) the office I interned at didn't care after awhile lol the patients actually would always compliment my tattoos and ask questions about them it was sweet
@nitarose070793 I totally agree. Patients wouldn't care if a doctor was tatted under his uniform. I'm actually in the US army too and they didn't kick me our for my tattoos lol
@nitarose070793 so I have to either wear band aids on them every day OR put makeup on it
@nitarose070793 yeah that's what I do but I have finger and hand tattoos too.
I didn't think about my career when I got my tattoos either 😂
