Vent:
This morning the maintenance crew in my apt complex, came in my unit, not announcing themselves, me half asleep thinking it's my husband stopping in from doing uber and dropping off my salad. They were walking around quietly, went in my daughter room waking her up, and came in my room where me and my son were in the bed...now I have no pants on or shirt & bra, covers aren't on me at all. The guy walks in, (I'm still thinking it's my husband) I don't here footsteps for a good minute or so, then he proceeds to go in my bathroom when there is a bathroom in the HALLWAY! And uses it without closing the door. Then he quietly leaves....now this whole time I'm half sleep thinking my husband is trying to be quiet.
So anyway a few minutes later after he leaves, my daughter starts crying and seconds my property manager barges in NOT announcing herself before opening the door and as soon as she walks in she yells office, I get up, wrap my covers around me cause I am still half naked and she tells me that she heard my baby crying and maintenance was here checking the smoke alarms and wanted to see if everything is ok. I didn't answer any of her questions cause I'm partially confused as to wtf is going on and was realizing my husband was not here moments ago...all I said to her was "I have no pants on, please leave" and she leaves...
I feel so violated and is fumed they came without announcing themselves or even talking and even coming in my room, possibly looking at me and then instead of leaving, proceeds to use my bathroom with the door opened...I can't deal with this anymore with this apartment complex.
We have been trying to move out of here and that was the last straw...my husband is pissed off.
What would yall have done?

@icestorm1123 that's good! Gotta stay safe now days! Cant trust anyone anymore..
@hazelnautumnsmomma125 that's good and we have weapons stationed around too and a gun we keep locked up, we just have basic stuff like a fire hydrant, sticks type of stuff and some other type of weapons my husband has out, stuff you'd never expect to be used as a weapon lol, the gun is our last resort, if the kids or any of us are in serious danger. But our first response is to escape and create much of a distraction as possible and if that don't work we shoot.
@icestorm1123 Oh man that's not good! But i agree! We have guns all over our house and our apartment when we lived there. Out of reach for autumn of course lol
@icestorm1123 Wow that's terrible and same. I was so happy to get out of there! Ours just wouldn't do their jobs and would take forever or"fix" it but not really fix it...
@hazelnautumnsmomma125 we don't even have a couch yet lol, we were going to wait til we got a house for that, our furniture is a layaway. My husband is probably going to be sleeping with his weapon now.
@hazelnautumnsmomma125 ours are lazy too, they don't like doing their jobs and as soon as somebody tell them what they should be doing they start throwing scrupulous fees at you and still don't fulfill the request. I hate apartments
Im sorry this happened to you! Maybe push the couch in front of the door when you sleep until y'all get moved..😓
@icestorm1123 i hated our last apartments too.. The maintenance and management were lazy and didn't do their jobs...
@hazelnautumnsmomma125 oh we definitely are mentioning it to the judge! I did look around, nothing came up missing or seemed out of place which is a relief but I just can't deal with being here anymore.

@taylorsmommy10817 I know right! That's horrible you experienced that, it has been complaints from other tenants that maintenance here just walks in without knocking, and we are going to put in a request to have Noone enter our unit without us being home and we will need 48hr notice if someone is to enter. I'm glad they aren't creeps but I know I was being looked at cause there was complete silence when I heard the footsteps enter my room.

Exactly, I'm quite sure they saw me and my son in the bed, out covers are light so you can't miss us. So that should've told them right there to leave. And then if he had to use the bathroom that nad, there is one in the hallway, why do you have to use mine? And then with the door opened!, my husband told me to look around and make sure they didn't steal anything or plant nothing cause they are trying to get rid of us since we are taking them to court, and they want an all Hispanic community here so they treat everyone else bad and give us a hard time so we can move.
@icestorm1123 that's so dumb. Even if they did and you didn't answer because you were asleep when they came in and saw ppl asleep they should have left and have no right staying in there and e especially using your bathroom!! I would have flipped and pulled a gun on them...
@icestorm1123 girl i would! They could have stolen or worse.. When i was in my apartment they had 2 locks on the doors and maintenance only had a key to one and the other could only be locked and unlocked from the inside so if they knocked and no one answered they would let themselves In thinking you weren't home but if you were asleep and had the other one locked they couldn't get in.
@hazelnautumnsmomma125 nope, they didn't announce themselves or knock..and they told the property manager that they did so it's their word against mine..they are very bias and prejudice and will lie to get out of any type of trouble like they have been in the past.

@embracemthrhd2 they put out a text notice last month about checking alarms come august but no date or exactly when. We already have them under investigation and is taking them to court so I believe they were more into searching for something rather than checking our fire alarms cause either would have heard it.
@taylorsmommy10817 we had a notice that they were in August but no date, I've seen them check alarms before and it's usually a loud beep if the alarm is good, now all I heard was footsteps and doors opening so it doesn't seem like they were there to check the alarms..possiby looking for something because we are taking them to court come November and have them under investigation with the fort Worth human services because of the crooked stuff they were doing before, I didn't hear anyone announce themselves before entering or knocking...if I can hear my daughter all the way down the hall making baby talk to herself..I know I can here someone knock on my door. We've been trying to move out for a few months now.
If they didn't announce themselves and just come in that's illegal
Or since you've been trying to move see if they will let you out of your lease without negative consequences. And with your deposit to keep you from filing cause they are totally in the wrong.

If they didn't give a flier before stating that they were going to do for alarm checks during that time they came to your place then you can file a law suite petition for violation of privacy. That's ridiculous.
