@amandahiatt, I use to be a stomach sleeper. And if your side isn't how you usually sleep it's hard to adjust. But definitely take the chances now to sleep how you want before you can't.
Early in pregnancy it doesn't matter too much. But later on side sleeping is recommended. Even now I'll wake up in the middle of the night and find myself on my back.
Your left side, it increases water flow to your kidneys up to 70%

@amandahiatt obviously im a rebel compared to these other comments, but everyone is different. Ask your doc. I was just telling you what mine told me. I'm almost done anyways and im not about to try to force my body to do something it refuses to do. Lol no matter what i do, my body always ends up on the back lol I already have a hard time sleeping being pregnant as it is, my body just wants to somewhat be comfortable. Lmao and my baby has been fine. But just check with your doc hun.💖
With my first baby I layed propped up my whole pregnancy with a pregnancy pillow underneath me and lots of pillows behind and my second pregnancy and this one I've been laying on my left side, my doctor told me not to lay on my back the farther along I get
My doctor told me to lay however is comfortable until i feel pain. That's the body's way of telling you to lay differently. I'm 34 weeks and always end up on my back but that's obviously where im the most comfortable. Ask your doctor. But my doc said people put more drama into laying only on your side or left side than what it needs to be. Our bodies during pregnancy can put up with a lot more than what we give them credit for.💖💖
When baby gets bigger its best to not lay on your back, because it can cut off blood circulation. Thats why they say its best to lay on your sides, preferably your left because better blood flow.

I think it depends. I'm laying on my back right now lol
Even then you don't have to worry about it until the baby is much bigger.
