Anyone else only have 1 kidney? Has this affected your pregnancy in any way??
@mommy2bee2 oh awesome! This is great to hear, thank you so much for the reply! :D
I was born with one kidney, and have lived a normal healthy life so far with out any complications. I stay on top of my medical care and try my best to live healthy lifestyle. I had natural vaginal birth with my daughter at 40 weeks and 1 day....I was high-risk as a precaution though. I am now pregnant with my second, and all is well. My OB definitely reassured me that people with one kidney can have healthy pregnancies without any complications. 😊 Good luck!
@beebaby good point about the family doc. Not knowing as much. I will just keep chugging along and see how it all plays out!
@beebaby poor gal! How far along is she? Otherwise now is her pregnancy going?
@beebaby nope, nothing! When I had my kidney taken out at 16, they told me that I would have to have a c-section as I probably shouldn't go to full term, but my ob seems to be not concerned at all, and wants me to have a natural birth. She just kind of seemed to brush off the fact that my family dr didn't want me to, so I am curious how other's birthing experience went with 1 kidney! I also have 2 metal rods screwed into my spine, so there is only a 50% chance that an epidural will work due to scar tissue. Once again, my OB seems less than concerned haha!
@beebaby oops! Yes that is quite different!! Has she never had kidneys? Poor lady!
@mudpuppy89 no problem of course :)
