I was born with one kidney, and have lived a normal healthy life so far with out any complications. I stay on top of my medical care and try my best to live healthy lifestyle. I had natural vaginal birth with my daughter at 40 weeks and 1 day....I was high-risk as a precaution though. I am now pregnant with my second, and all is well. My OB definitely reassured me that people with one kidney can have healthy pregnancies without any complications. 😊 Good luck!

@beebaby good point about the family doc. Not knowing as much. I will just keep chugging along and see how it all plays out!

She already delivered at 26 weeks. This was a while ago. Almost died and the baby 2. She was in nicu for a year. They told her not to get prego. Her situation is more severe than you
She is dumb for getting prego so many times

A family doctor would know less about baby delivery then an OB, if your concerned k would consult another ob but doesn't seem like you would have much problem other than back pains

@beebaby nope, nothing! When I had my kidney taken out at 16, they told me that I would have to have a c-section as I probably shouldn't go to full term, but my ob seems to be not concerned at all, and wants me to have a natural birth. She just kind of seemed to brush off the fact that my family dr didn't want me to, so I am curious how other's birthing experience went with 1 kidney! I also have 2 metal rods screwed into my spine, so there is only a 50% chance that an epidural will work due to scar tissue. Once again, my OB seems less than concerned haha!

No. It has deteriorated over time from age 14. She wasn't supposed to have children
