So I had an afternoon appointment with my OB and for my glucose tolerance test. When the office called to confirm, I asked about the test and whether I should go an hour early so I could drink the solution. The woman said I had to fast before the test for at least 8 hours and needed a morning appointment. She changed my appt to 9am. Fast forward I'm sitting in the office at 9:30, starving, hangry after throwing up on the way here and getting shaky. Going over 12 hours without food at 28 weeks... I kindly complain and the lady at the front desk was horrified that I was told to fast. End of story my doctor went after whoever that lady was but it's 10:25 am and I've only had two crackers. Ugh. 😔🙁

It's technically a random glucose test and you don't have to but there are less false positives if you fast. Problem is I don't know how they expect a pregnant woman to go 14+hours without eating??? Is it just me?? I eat 6 small meals a day and very healthy but I just can't make it this long and I'm still struggling with vomiting and nausea. Empty stomach = sick
