I'm in Texas, when I was in labor with my daughter (for DAYS! Pushed for 6 hours) I was begging for a c section. My doctor kept telling me "you really don't want to do that to your body if you don't have to, the recovery process is longer and there is long term pain, but if you keep insisting we WILL do that for you". I felt I just couldn't take the pain anymore, my epidural didn't work and I felt like I was dying but then it was all over and she came out. In the end I'm so glad I followed through with a vaginal delivery. I was up walking around like nothing happened the next day and never had to take a pain pill. My sister had a c section for medical reasons and was in SO MUCH PAIN for two weeks or more after hers. Had to take pain meds and couldn't even pick up her baby. I stayed with her for a week to help because she couldn't do much. I'll take a vaginal delivery over a c section any day due to the longer effects the c sections have on your body.

I had 3 doctors and my OB high risk specialist tell me I couldn't unless it was an emergency because it's such a risky procedure, I wanted it because I'm not good with pain. But honestly it wasn't that bad and it all goes away once you first see the baby. The healing is much easier too

I've heard a csection and its recovery is waaaay worse than vaginally delivery and recovery. And keep in mind that a doctor can decide to drop you as a patient if they aren't comfortable with doing a csection for no reason being that it is a major surgery for both you and baby. I've never heard of any doctors that will do it for no reason but you could definitely ask your OB if they'll do it. Also make sure your insurance covers an elective csection.

Lol ok I see , well in Nyc that will definitely not be an option . C section doesn't mean the baby isn't healthy . It just means you couldn't deliver vaginally for other reasons . If I had a choice csection wouldn't be it . Good luck tho.

It has to be medically necessary such as not dilating, baby heart rate dropping, baby too small, baby too big etc. That is a big surgery so if you aren't good with pain then csection isn't for you either .

@determined_, LOL don't let these ppl tell u the wrong info c sections are risky so it has to be a medical reason or emergency for instance if ur body won't dilate or baby is in distress... so no you can not choose especially if this is ur first baby... but ask ur OB they know more than me or anybody on here

@sweetnicole it's a law, I didn't say they did but if she knows it law she can argue it. It's HER body and her baby. I know personally every practice I've been too switched 3 times goes by the law! @determined_ research, my OB let me know the laws with that real early in pregnancy. At 39 weeks you can ask to be induced, have your water broken, or for a Csection for no reason even if your reason is I'm tired you can ask.

it's the law.... at 39 weeks YOU decide how you want your child here and when
10.06.2016 Нравится Ответить
most doctors won't do it unless you or your child is at risk. if you're healthy and babies healthy they will only do naturally.
