my 6 week old is eating 4oz every two hours I was thinking about giving him rice cereal for his night time bottle... thoughts?

If he's gaining weight properly, I wouldn't mess with anything. He might just be going through a little growth spurt. Introducing food/cereal can cause more harm than good 😕

he is cluster feeding. perfectly normal could last a few weeks

Yeah I know, cluster feeding like that is totally normal is all I'm saying. Talk to your doctor about making feedings more frequent. As I said, my baby ate nonstop. Almost every 10 minutes, for the first 2 months. It's very common. You can ask your doctor but just letting you know the tummy isn't developed enough yet for rice cereal at that young. Hoping you find a solution ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

@mamesey, he's already at 4oz every two hours the milk just goes straight through him formula isn't sustaining him

My baby ate almost nonstop the first 2 months. That's normal.

His tummy isn't developed enough yet for that :( ask your doctor but it's wise to just wait. No need to rush things ❤️

My son is the same he eats SO much.. I asked his doctor if I could start cereal and they told me no earlier than 3 months 🙄

I think I would ask your doctor. Usually they don't recommend that until 4-6 months.
