do not debate on this post. I'm curious. does anyone have a well blended family? I have 3 girls with my ex and am about to have a baby with my new man. of a different race. its doesn't bother me but I'm curious if anyone else is in the same boat. I already talked to my kids about about it but did anyone have questions from their kids once baby is here?

@lthats almost what im wondering. he has kids from previous relationship. one looks mixed and even when its just his kids and us same thing. I'm just not ready for the questions how do you explain that its other people when you don't want them to judge others or feel a different way?

Unfortunately society will always look at u strange when u only have 1 mixed child. My youngest daughter is half black and when I'm out with her there is always stares. None of my kids have ever questioned y she was different from the rest of us but my boys r younger then her and her and my oldest r only 2 years apart. I'm sure they will probably have questions since ur kids seem to b a Lil older once the baby is born but just answer them the best u can. Good luck with everything and if u need any advice feel free to ask.

No, they really never even brought it up. I have several mixed couples in my family. I don't know if it's ever been brought up with my son from his fathers side of the family. If it has he's not asked me. I think he's more concerned with the fact that he's completely outnumbered! He's got two sisters from his father and when this baby is here he'll have two on my side too. Lol

The two children I have currently are from very different cultures in their fathers side. They've never seen each other as anything other than siblings. I have always raised my children to be colour blind when it comes to people. My son being the darkest has never seemed to ever feel different or verbalise it to me.

@gingermama, I mean they know obviously. my boyfriends black and we are white. I did explain it. it took me explaining mixing two colors together to create another color for my youngest (6)to understand. I'm just curious if when the baby does come if they'll be more questions. they already asked about the last name I explained different dads. I just don't know what to prepare for. their dads side is not so friendly about it. so they always come back with questions

The best you can do is just explain the truth. The baby is still part of you, Nd that makes the baby their sibling, and just that the baby will happen to be a different shade than them. They shouldnt find it weird if they grow up with the understanding. As far as it looking strange at all from the outside, no one should judge. There are plenty of families that are a blend. The colors shouldnt matter. We are all pink and red on the inside anyway.
