Yea that's how I feel with one person working in my house until my baby is born we need all the food we can get because I have a 10 year old and 2 year old and my fiancé and me I think my mom just wanted to fill her fridge that's really what I think she was wanting it for @twinscomingsoon

I wish it was that easy. My husband can't say no to his mom so when she asked he said we could do it. Then she gave us the list and I was like dude. 15-20 bottles of soda 3-4 cases of water, stuff to make salsa, stuff to make rice, 30 lbs of meat and the chili stuff to make the sauce. I mean it doesn't seem like a lot but it's gonna add up! I'm so stressed out about it. She wants us to use our ebt but when we move into our apt we need to fill our fridge and if we pay for all the food and drinks we won't have groceries for ourselves and we need to be able to eat. Ugh.

@candice_leann, we are having it at my sisters and my mom hasn't even bought anything she doesn't even have to pay for the cake until Sunday my sister bought decorations and I bought the invitations and stamps and my sister sent them out my mom has barely did a thing for this shower and I was gonna buy the food myself but she was like no you don't throw your self a shower so I said ok I ain't about to pay for nothing I am honestly almost to the point that I don't want a damn shower she got me so annoyed today

we went to American pie pizza and i had to spend 200 something on food and drinks all she bought was decorations and the cake and it wasn't a very good cake it was pretty plain.

I'm not paying for any food I was gonna cook some stuff myself to take and make some punch but that's with what I added into my grocery list @twinscomingsoon

My mother in law wants us to pay for the food and drinks. But we're right in the middle of moving and preparing for two freaking babies so we have to tell her we'll help but she's gotta cut back she wanted us to buy like 30lbs of meat! I was like no freaking way. That's way too much it's gonna be to expensive

Yea that's what I thought she didn't want me to throw my own so she took over and is inviting people I don't even want there but I am not saying anything because she is throwing it and I get food stamps ok yes my fiancé works but we still need help with food and she got mad because I told her I got groceries for my house and now she is mad because I didn't save any for the shower not my place and my house comes before a shower just saying I swear I ain't never in my life wanted my mom to just stay away for good she is pushing her limits here @vb95

If someone is hosting a party in your honor (no matter the occasion) you are just expected to show up.

Yes usually if someone else is throwing it for you, they pay the bill for it
