You could also try holding your baby skin to skin when you pump. The produces the hormone that trigger the let down reflex. Even if you have to supplement with formula keep offering the breast first. You can do it! But do t feel like you failed or like you're less of a mother of you can't do it. Fed is best doesn't matter how. And the fact that you're trying is great!
They say it gets easier month two! I am sure you can stick in there and I am sorry its so hard on you. Sometimes with pumping you can try pumping a bunch of times for only five or less minute at a time!
i have been stressing ): just wish it was easy and i dnt make enough milk when i pump i only get 1 oz -.- ive been feeling like just giving up @carterclaytonb @tahtahme
It annoyed me too, but it helped my daughter her first 2 weeks or so until she learned to latch! When she was done with it, I was relieved, but it was necessary for those days especially so I didn't give up. Maybe there is a WIC or LeLecheLeague around that you can see a lactation consultant at?
Have you tried calling the hospital you gave birth at? They have lactation consultants that you can make an appointment with and some even have classes so you can get support from other Breastfeeding mothers.
Did you try nipple shield? your nipples don't have to be hard. sometimes it takes a lot of practice. even if baby rejects the nipple 40 times, it may take 41, so don't give up. Both you and baby have to learn and practice this!
