a good latch is super important. your nipples will be tender for a couple weeks while you get adjusted to breastfeeding, but after that adjustment period, there shouldn't be pain when baby latches... don't be scared to ask for help or feel bad if breastfeeding doesn't work out from you and baby.
Never schedule your feedings (feed on demand), if you end up giving the baby a bottle of BM always pace feed and never give them more than 4 ounces, drink lots of water, and most importantly create small goals. Breastfeeding is hard work and takes determination. Take it week by week, and don't beat yourself up if can't do it. Fed is best! Good luck!
