I never had one for either of my kids but that's because I was given so much I didn't see a need. With my daughter I am going to to do a meet baby party. I think it's completely your choice on how to do the baby shower

I did with my first. this one in doing a meet and greet after he/she is born.

Usually 1 for each sex unless it's been a while since you've had a baby.

I had a big one for my first pregnancy, I wasn't going to have for my second pregnancy since we were expecting another boy, but my mom insisted we do something small at least.

And now that we are having a girl, we are having a HUGE baby shower. lol.

There was a shower for me and all my siblings. there are 5 of us.
