can you be allergic to cashews but not to peanuts? I'm breast feeding my daughter and today I ate cashews and she got a rash all over her body, private and face. I had peanuts before and she never reacted to that.. is so strange.

did you wash your hands after cashews when my brother was young my mom had been working with peanut butter and my brother got into trouble and my mom just grabbed his arm well where she had touched him developed a rash she was told that she must of had the oil on her hands and caused a slight reaction my brother grew out of it though as he can eat and touch peanut butter the fact that it wwnt away after a bath makes me wonder if it could be similar

Yes! Very possible! I'm deathly allergic to cashews and all other tree nuts but fine with peanuts. I wouldn't eat them if she shows reaction. Each time she has a reaction it gets worse. My throat instantly closes now! Good luck momma(:

@mommytobe1992 thank you for taking the time.. I'm going to mention it to her pediatrician at her next appointment. I gave her a bath and it helped her..

I just looked it up for you lol. I saw that peanuts are different from cashews because cashews are tree nuts and peanuts arent. it also talked about sometimes if someone is allergic to cashews there is a chance they are or aren't allergic to other tree nuts (almonds, etc). hope this helps. maybe take her to get allergy tests? if she is old enough.
