Labor story.
I really wanted natural delivery, I've read a lot about it and thought I was ready..
Nov 29: 4 am in the morning I woke up dreaming about having contractions and actually having them. I got excited and started timing them, they were 8 mins apart lasting 1 minute each.
We didn't rush to the hospital because I wanted to get there at the last minute.
We ate, we packed and at 3 pm we entered the birthing center. I got checked and I was 4 cm D and 90% E. Contractions got stronger. I was breathing and walking around with my husband and laying on the bed was the most uncomfortable position which I had to take from time to time to get checked .. So from 4 pm to 10 pm I was walking and breathing through my contractions and they got really really strong by 10 pm. (From 7 pm I wanted to push which was making contractions worse since I couldn't relax ) I got checked by different nurse and she said that I'm 4 cm dilated and I was shocked. I decided to take a hot bath to speed up the process and it was really hard to breathe through contractions at that time, but hot tub did help a bit. 1 hour later I got out of tub because i though my water broke and nurse said those scare words "4 cm dilated and it doesn't look like your water broke". At that point my contractions were so intense that I was screaming like crazy and it didn't actually helped I just didn't know what to do.. I was miserable and after 8 hours of painful contractions I felt like all my work was useless. I asked for an epidural and at 11.30 .. I was screaming next hour.. At 12.30 anesthesiologist came in and started telling me about side effects and I thought he's crazy telling me about headache when I was feeling like somebody is pulling my spine from my butt, so when he was asking questions I yelled Each answer "YES" "NO" wtf. "DO IT"!!! I got it at about 1.30 and epidural didn't really work and I was in pain so he added painkiller used for c-section and I still had a huge urge to push. From 2 to 3 I was trying not to push which was super uncomfortable and also painful.. At 2.30 I was 8 cm and at 3 pm doctor came to check me and after all was done he said that I can push now. They put me in right position for this and I pushed for 20 minutes and he was born at 2:35 on November 30th. I had tears and I felt everything doctor was doing down there.. They gave me some painkiller and the only thing I felt is dizziness but I still felt everything.
The first thing I said after everything was begin that I'll never have another baby.
I'm happy now having my beautiful baby and I'll probably want to have more babies but I hope this experience was the worst since I was in labor for 24 hours. At least now I know what it's really like to give birth.
well good luck with that Hun. this is my last and final time I'm glad I got to experience it naturally though
@mumof2, I was breathing for 8 hours, nobody there really helped me with this, the only thing they wanted to do is to give me meds.. Next time I'll try to prepare even better
hey u can. just remember to keep breathing. I never taught myself how to so I almost passed out lol but our bodies are made for it. I truly believe that because I really didn't think I could do it
but not going to lie ladies it hurts like a mtf I had son with epidural so I was able to compare and I frankly don't know how I did it, but I did.
just had my baby girl naturally yesterday 2 hours of real labor and she was here I was super surprised.
@lil_bigmama, it's going to be your second baby, it'll be easier and faster than first labor, so you can do it. I guess it wasn't my lucky day, I even delivered with some other doctor , not the one I was supposed to deliver with (hospital didn't let her now I was there, still can't believe it) . My mom delivered both naturally and it took her 12 hours total with no tears. Breathing really helped I just let myself get upset because of the absence of any progress and this is when everything got worse.. You can do it, just practice breathing
no problem
