I also use a hot compress and make sure I breastfeed using that side. When it was really bad I would pump that side for 5-10 minutes. The combination of heat/stimulation helped it to go away by the next day.

build up probably. Take a warm shower and breastfeed and stimulate that boob some more. I had a lump in my breast TN when I fist started and that helped me.
