How Did My Labor and Delivery Unfold on My Due Date?

I started getting contractions yesterday morning (probably around 5 am) which were pretty irregular but as the day went on they got more regular and strong. At around 3, I went on a walk with my best friend. By 4, I was headed to my parents house for dinner and my contractions became very strong and regular (2.5-4 minutes 45 seconds to 1.5 minutes long) I got to my parents and by 5 I called my midwife, by 6:20 we left. Got to triage at 6:45, admitted by about 8:00 at 4 cm dilated and 100% effaced. Let me just say back labor is a bitch and my body was not handling the pain well, my blood pressure got really elevated. They wanted me to get an epidural to bring it down, but the IV pain medication brought it down enough to go without the epidural. At about 10, they broke my water when I was 7cm, it was either that or wait and end up getting an epidural because they didn't think my body and blood pressure could handle waiting for my water to break in its own. I started pushing a little before 11 pm, and Saieve Lucas James made his way into the world by 11:53, weighing 7 lbs 9.3 oz, and 20.5 inches long. Born on his due date by 7 minutes :)
