So my fiancé and I have started talking about who we will allow to see me in the delivery room before our son is born and I told him while I'm giving birth I only want him and my mom. He said that's okay but his mom may want to be in there also. I love my mother in law to death but I don't feel comfortable with her seeing me like that. I know it's her grandchild and everything but she's also the kind of person that will ask me a thousand times if there's anything she can do and I know that will get on my nerves. I really do love her but I don't want her to be upset that I don't want her in the delivery room. Any advice or tips?

My mother in law was in the room and I feel like her and my husband bonded more than my husband and I. They were straight looking up my vagina the whole time I was pushing. This time around only my husband will be in there. My MIL does a lot for us so I thought having her in there would be enough but no, she shows up at the hospital right before we're discharged and is at our house the second we get home with our newborn. Definitely not happening this time. In fact, I don't want anyone at the hospital before, during or after!

Yeah same here! Like she's never even seen my bare stomach before and she thinks I'm gonna want her to see my vag?! Yeah no thanks.😂 @agrace2015

Oh my gosh I am having the same problem. my MIL and fiancé really want her to be in there but I'm totally against it and feel like it will be really weird.

That's very true. Your MIL should hopefully respect your wishes. Don't worry. Tell her they only allow two people in there.
@lorly04, see I would just do that but my mom is my best friend and since I'm still young (18) I feel like she'll be able to help me through it better than anyone else considering she had me at 17.
I have a similar issue with my MIL so I decided to only have my husband in there. No moms. lol
I feel the same way except I didn't want anyone not even want my babies father there.....but he was. lol you're fine to feel that way and your mother in law should know it's not going to be a very pretty sight since she mother. and she should be ok with giving you you're privacy. just let her know that it makes you feel uncomfortable. don't be scared to hurt people's feelings. it your birth you should have whatever you want to make you feel comfortable. ;)
@taylorraye, but if you really don't want anyone else in there just let her know, I'm sure she will understand it is your decision in the end
I also just wanted it to be my husband and mom in the room when I had my daughter but in the end I was in so much pain and just focused on that I didn't care who was in the room lol my mother in law and father in law were also in the room witb us
