What do you do for you little when they have Alopecia Areata? We went in today and go referred to a dermatologist but dad in the past has had bald spots when he was younger and his sister as well ( auntie has a lot more problems and with her meds that could be another reason her hair falls out)
is there any remedies that will help? His bald spots are getting bigger and today his hair is just falling out all over...

Yup I was gonna comment to but just didn't im sorry . My son had it from 9 to 10. My mom had it at different times when she was younger....hair fell out in patches. My son had went from a head of hair to about 10 strands on his whole head in about 6 weeks time. It was devastating as a mom to watch. His school let him wear a hat the whole year which was great. His dermatologist said you can try different things to help but most likely they won't work and its all about time although there is no time frame on alopecia areata. After a year his hair follicles just woke up again and grew back. He has not had another incident since.

My daughter got diagnosed a few months ago for the same. The dermatologist gave me a steroid cream but she also said the only thing that works is time.

I don't think they can do anything for it but I could be wrong. My old friend has it, got it later in life when she was 30. She ended up just shaving her head, now just keeps a short hair cut. I'm not sure if it's treatable.

I was gonna comment last night on your post that it could be alopecia but didn't want to freak you out.
