Do the best you can to be there but also remember that one day you'll be in his shoes and likely spare your children the details of your own frail health for want of protecting them. It's in the nature of a good parent, no matter how old the child. I'm sure your papa is a good man and no doubt wants to spare you the agony of seeing him suffer in any way. Send him BIG hugs from Florida and stay strong. Maybe out together a nice care package for him? Pictures, mind strengthening work books with Soduku, crossword, word find games??? A notebook full of love, drawings, and messages from you and your children? I hope you get to see him soon. Hugs and prayers!

@xryztalroze thank you very much i needed this still. It makes my heart literally hurt because i instantly think of my grandmother my dads mom kept asking me to come spend the summer with her. I promised i would be down there but as a teen its like you don't really see whats really important and you get wrap up in your own life so easy. I kept pushing it off then the time came i was gonna go that summer after i had my baby. She got sick . So i left my baby home and took the greyhound too see her i stayed a week or so and told her i would be back. A few weeks back home and they called to tell me she was gone. I still remember the joy on her face to see me i also remember her telling me she wasn't gonna be here long in her own way. She kept telling me "well i guess its about time for me to go on home." I dont want a similar thing to happen.

Unfortunately my dad isn't a reader or anything of that nature due to the fact that he didn't go to school as a child. Instead he worked picking cotten so reading is kinda hard on him. But he's ☝️A1 with numbers 🤣. Me too i told hubby yesterday that i need him to get it together so we can make a trip soon. He said okay so hopefully it will be soon 🤞. My kids are still with my mom except for my youngest. Hes seen them twice i believe. He said he was going to go see them this Thursday if he got out the hospital..

@albertrettazariah1386 Thank you for sharing about your grandmother. I'm sorry for your loss but so happy you got to spend that week with her!!! What a blessing!! Ok, so your dad is a numbers man, that's great, my own dad never learned to read well either so I understand. There are math games and numbers games and all that. Just a card then with note of love. If he wants to learn how to read, it's not too late!!! You could put in an audio book or what about the Bible on audio? Music mix tape? Pictures and healthy snacks. New socks, t-shirts, underwear, a robe or men's house slippers? I'm sure he will appreciate just knowing you are thinking of him. Hugs mama!
