I decided to let them decide on their own. They still don’t want them done so I don’t push it.

I was 16 when I got mine pierced. It was a birthday present from my mom. I personally think that you should wait til they're old enough to even want it. If they do great, you can make it a good day for you and your daughter to pick out some cute earrings. If she doesn't want to then that's fine too

I got mine done at a baby and they were done wrong and now I can’t wear earrings anymore. And when I was old enough to decide I didn’t want them anyway. In my opinion it’s better to wait until she’s old enough to verbally and consciously consent to it and take her to a piercing shop.

My parents waited until I could decide for myself that I wanted earrings. I was 19. I plan to do the same for my girls. I want them to wait until they at least have started their period and I plan on having a fun mother/daughter outing and letting them get it done then.

I got mine done as a baby and I’m glad I did because I can’t get any piercing . My skin is sensitive to it .😩

I had mine done @ 2 1/2months Nd so did my daughter and we’ve had no problems

I thought about it, an ex friend got mad at me saying it was child abuse.....while I don’t believe it’s child abuse, I couldn’t put my daughter through the unnecessary pain like that. And I’m looking forward to her making the choice to have them done and going together to do it!

I don’t think it’s a big deal if you do or don’t.
I let my girls decide but things didn’t turn out well. My oldest had a bad experience and hers didn’t last more than a few weeks because she couldn’t keep her hands off her ears. My youngest saw what happened and is now afraid of getting earrings even though she really wants them. If I would have known this is how things would have turned out I’d have done it when they were babies.

As long as they're done at a reputable place such as a tattoo shop that offers piercings or a piercing place that's not at the mall, pedi, Clair's, etc. I see no issue.

Shops are held to much higher standards and to become a piercer you have to meet hours of requirements, trainings, and must have done x amount of piercings correctly with supervision.

I had my daughter’s pierced at 6mo old and if you know anything about Latino custom..that’s late lol.

Depends on the place
Some are okay doing it at 6 wks and some wait till 6 months shots. My daughter got hers done at 6 months and is 13 now and never had any trouble.

Mine were done when I was about 4. I was traumatized and haven’t worn earrings since. I’m going to pierce my daughters ears when she tells me she wants them.

My daughter was 6 weeks when we pierced hers , when she was like 4 she said she wanted to take them off and we did .... before she turned five she asked for some

I believe mine were done when I was like a week old. I personally will wait until and if my daughter wants them. I think it’s important to teach our kids they have bodily autonomy and things shouldn’t be done to them without their consent, especially for vanity.
