Hey ladies so another mommy on here was talking about calling private parts certain names (this is not bashing post so please read all!!!!) i don’t have an opinion on this cuz my son calls it his willy and I respects moms that can use anatomical names I just can’t without laughing (I know I’m immature sometimes.. it happens) but anyways.. my son went to the bathroom with me and points and says mommy I see your willy... I don’t have a willy so how do I explain to a 4 year old that I don’t have one without giving him too much info????

@northwoodsmomma, my son knows that only certain people should see him without clothes on like he won’t even change in front of my fiancé who he has known for more than half of his life.. I was sexually abused when I was a teen so I get that.. but he knows that part of it..
Just tell your son that you have a vagina. My son is almost 2 and knows what his penis and testicles are and calls them by name. In fact, when changing his diaper, he will sometimes tell me not to pinch his scrotum. Which I have done on accident before 🤦♀️ poor kiddo!
According to Stop It Now, an organization for educating and preventing parents/educators on sexual abuse, the #1 thing you can do to protect your child from such abuse is to call private parts by their proper names. My son knows what breasts are, that I have a vagina, and that he and my husband have penises and testicles. He's not traumatized by those terms whatsoever.
I mean your the mom he’s your son it’s your choice in the end what you call his genitalia but I def would try not to laugh your a mom and your gunna have a lot of sex talks when he’s older gunna have to hold a serious face when ya do it
My daughter calls her lady parts a “princess”. I’m okay with that. There’s nothing wrong with your son calling his a willy .♥️
I think if there is a name that you are comfortable with for girls, use that. Say “mommy doesn’t have a willy. She has a _____. That’s what makes mommy a girl and having a willy makes you a boy.”
Not trying to be argumentative at all just seriously trying to help. I understand calling them anatomical names makes you laugh but at the very least be consistent in what you calls his privates and yours. When they start using different names for it that you've never used it's a red flag. God forbid it happen to anyone child but that's why its recommended.
I don’t think there’s such thing as too much info when teaching anatomy as long as you don’t go into graphic detail about intercourse.
