Any moms of toddler boys who can give me tips on potty training. My 3 year old starts school in september but he has to be potty trained and he wont sit on the potty at all. Everytime i sit him on it he starts crying and gets up.....

I didn't read the other comments so sorry if I'm repeating something someone else said but with my son when he turned 17 months we put big boy underwear on him and took him to the potty every 15 minutes. It was awful and he peed in his underwear a lot. The second day he peed a few times in his underwear but not much and the third day he was completely potty trained. We used m&ms as his reward (cheap and he loves chocolate)

Were working with our little girl. I give her a phone or tablet while she sits on the potty. Now she stays without me giving her one. We make a super big deal when she goes and she gets so happy.

I let my son be naked from the waist down. I Put the little toilet in the center of the living room and just told him when he needed to go, go sit on it. He had a few accidents the first day but he did really good. Then he wore pull ups if we HAD to go out. We tried to stay home during the time he was being potty trained .

Ok with boys I’ve learned it’s all about making it fun! They get bored easily right. So with my first, it was summer time and ants were out so he liked peeing outside on the ants. (We have a huge lot so privacy wasn’t an issue) the trick was getting him to pee inside lol. So we took on another game. It worked with both of my boys. I used either Cheerios or fruit loops cereal and put a few in the toilet and teach them to aim! Oh boy were they so excited to make them “grow” (cause they get fat when soggy) lol. Any who. Both of my boys loved it. And it taught them colors with the fruit loops. Both of my boys never had accidents nor did it take longer then 2-3days to b completely potty trained! It’s all about finding something they won’t get “bored” with!!!

I used a seat that sits on top of regular toilet. They loved going potty like mommy

My son had until May 15th to get potty trained which is when he turned 3 for his preschool. He's now been potty trained 2 weeks. I tried stickers and candy that didn't work so I made a treasure box with a bunch of dollar store toys. At first just getting him on the toilet was hard so I'd sit him there make him stay for 2 minutes and give him an m&m eventually he stayed on there long enough to read a book which is when he peed the first time. For the first week he thought he needed me to read a book or he couldn't pee but now he gets it. The morning is still a struggle I have to take him to the toilet instead of him willingly going. Most of the time he'll tell me he has to go. It's been a battle for about 4 months he just finally did it.

We potty trained my youngest standing first. We put some water in his little toilet seat and put cheerios and made him aim at them to pee.

@briealyus Yeah it can definitely be stressful especially since you know he needs to be using the potty by a certain date.. that definitely adds a lot of pressure!! Just hang in there!! 💜

My daughter was the same way when she was 3. I just put big girl panties on her and told her not to pee or poop in them because big girls don't do that. And the first few times she did pee in them but she hated it and would rather use the toilet. My mom had been telling me to put undies on her for awhile before that, she said that kids won't like the feeling of peeing in their undies. And she was right lol for once 😄
