9 weeks pregnant. Still haven't seen an OB nor had a sonogram because of my "no insurance" situation. I'm stressed out enough and this kind of rejection has pushed me past my breaking point. Any suggestions? I feel like I've hit rock bottom because I have no clue if my baby is okay. :/

It shouldn't cost anything to have the hospital administer a pregnancy test, they they should have someone that does financial aid help you apply for medicaid.

@malainaheka23 they have to do a test to verify for medicaid.
@rose135975, I don't need a pregnancy test. I need prenatal care.

I don't know if they do this now but when i lived in ny and was pregnant with my son there was an insurance just for pregnant woman. I didn't need it but was told about it just in case i did
That blows. Neither do the ones near me....I had tried them before I had called my OB. Is there a charity care or similar type of insurance in NY? My friend was on it in NJ years ago when she was pregnant. Or even Medicaid or applying for regular insurance. I think pregnancy is considered a life changing event. Any women's shelters nearby that could have info? I assume they would know about insurance questions, or at least be able to point you in a good direction.
@nomaci, No, the ones near me don't have prenatal care as an option. :/
Mmm, yeah, that could be it. NY is a weird state. Is there a Planned Parenthood anywhere near you that does prenatal care?
@nomaci, I'm new to New York, so that could be the difference.
That's so stupid. Maybe it was because I had been going to the same office for years?
Go social services and apply for pregnancy Medicaid
@nomaci, they won't let me pay out of pocket. They said that I need insurance in order to be seen by an OB.
I didn't have insurance for my first 3 months, so I just paid for the visits and ultrasound out of pocket. It was like $250 or so for the ultrasound, maybe $100 per visit? I skipped most of the tests until after insurance kicked in with the new year.
Search up a welfare office on Google that's near you & give them a call . Go there early on a morning on a weekday & apply for Medicaid. (: It's so worth it, I did it, & thanks to that me & baby girl are getting the care we need
