Ladies, I'm 37+1 and have had an awful achey type pain across the bottom of my back most of the day, it's been constant for the past 2 hours, it sort of feels like a need to go toilet but nothing is coming, I've even tried to take lactulose just incase it's constipation but it doesn't appear to be, my waters haven't gone and I've had excessive discharge but not lost my plug, the front of my thighs are aching and walking hasn't helped, my OH said he doesn't see the point in me phoning the Maternity Unit because I've had back pain on and off for a couple of weeks so it mustn't be labour, any ideas what it could be?

Any tips on how to deal with the back ache? Should I call my MAU or leave it to see if things progress over the next day or so? xx

Could be early labour :) You can get contractions before your waters break...and you dont need to have a show either :) My waters broke and I never saw my plug at all lol... no contractions or anything beforehand...I just woke up and my waters went! Then contractions started a few hours later :) X
