Wow @sarahemccormick that sounds beyond stressful
Oh k thanks I will try cause idk what else to do
Some kids, there's literally nothing you can do to make them stop. My oldest son has ODD and Bipolar Type 2 disorder....He has the worst behavior I have ever seen in a child, and there isn't a single thing I or my husband can do to make him stop his stealing behavior. We have spanked, grounded, taken things away, confined him to his bed, don't allow him to have electronics, monitor him as much as humanly possible...have had the sherriff talk to him, he's almost been arrested and had charges put on him for grand theft, and petty theft...we have him involved in TBOZ counseling 2x a week, he's on meds, sees a psychiatrist. And etc. And he STILL steals, still acts out, is still super disrespectful. We are great parents. We do everything right. It's not always something the parents are doing wrong, for those who seem to think it's always the parents, it's not. BY the way, he's 13.
Oh good one@sweetpeasmama716 having the bike "stolen". They have to learn.
I agree with @arivera64 . I had to scare my 6yo and 9yo. had a cop come talk to them about stealing and that even kids can go to jail. Its been better since then. we even had their bikes "stolen" so they would know how it feels to be stolen from. they didn't like it very much at all. months later their bikes were "returned". between the 2 experiences I think they learned their lesson
You have to embarrass them!
Take him to your local police station and have an officer scare the shit out of him. Thats what I would do
don't spank to teach a lesson. explain what they're doing is wrong. reasoning works.
