My baby is 4 weeks old and I've been breastfeeding this whole time. I know it's what's best for him but I'm finding it really hard to enjoy it. I'm actually really starting to hate it. I don't feel like it's the special bonding time that everyone talks about and a lot of the time it stresses me out because I feel like I'm not making enough for him or something. He gets really fussy while I'm feeding him and then I get upset too. And he constantly wants to eat and it's to the point where I can barely eat or go to the bathroom because I can't ever put him down. I feel like such a bad mom for not enjoying it. Does it ever get better?

Yeah pumping is a pain in the butt. I did it a lot the first couple of months but now I only have to pump once a day. It's easy to feel overwhelmed between pumping and feeding. Like you don't have time for anything else right? I remember feeling like that. I was so close to stop bf so many times. But I just hung in there and after a while it wasn't so bad! If I remember correctly my baby had a growth spurt around 4 weeks and again at 8. It only lasts a week at most. So don't get discouraged! You just kinda have to go with the flow and let it pass. Without going crazy haha. That's the hard part!

Yes I completely understand I haven't pumped all day! But pumping does help and its tea and other things to eat/drink if you feel like you aren't producing enough. But the more you nurse the more you produce

@babyolive, @cubanese @mookie1 @withlovedkj thanks ladies! I do need to try to pump more. It's just hard to find the time to even do that. But I'm holding out hope that it'll get better here in a month or two

I totally understand your frustration. But it does get better! I felt the same way and not that my baby is a little older (3 months) it's so much better. Just hang in there and keep trying. If your boobs get too full, pump. If you feel like you're not making enough, pump. It really helps! If you need a break, put milk in a bottle and feed him that way. Or have someone else do it. You've made a great decision for you baby by breastfeeding him. I know it can get frustrating but you're already doing a great job by choosing to breastfeed.

I believe he's probably going through a cluster feeding . It gets better and he just need your comfort. It gets better. I felt like that with my first cluster feeding. And the other day I was away from my baby for awhile when I came back she wouldn't take the bottle from others she just wanted me. Soooo it's true they feed for comfort as well.

It does get better and I felt the same way the first month, especially during growth spurts. Have you tried pumping milk to give your nipples a break. It will also allow other people to feed him to give you some free time
