Anybody have an experience of being in the hospital when you have a newborn baby? I have to go to the hospital tonight to be treated for a thromboembolism and I need to be on blood thinners. Unfortunately this means that I won't be able to breastfeed anymore, and I'm torn. I'm wondering if they will let my baby stay with me the whole time I am in the hospital. That's the only thing that will keep me sane.

@cocored55, thank you! My doctor said 5 days the longest, but it'll most likely be about 1 or 2 days. I hate being away from home :(
yw I hope ur home soon ! they will most likely just keep u over night or until they feel it's resolving
@cocored55, oh okay makes sense, thank you
I know at both hospitals I work at we always need a adult besides the mother with the baby because if something were to happen like a reaction to meds ect there's no one to take the baby nurses can't just take the baby so they would have to have another adult there
@cocored55, I think my boyfriend will be with me for a little but I don't know how long I need to stay
only if you have some one there also as an adult
