So glad my baby girl is finally here.. but shoot, even a day warning could have helped 😂 we got home yesterday to no groceries, a messy house, and my brand new pump that hadn't even been opened yet... haha so things are a little hectic right now lol and I NEED to pump like asap haha lol but wow, having her home is so unbelievable (:

I've never heard the 6week post partum thing haha I was pumping 6 hours after my little lady was born and I just sort of pumped and breast fed all the time, I also gained 3 months worth of frozen milk which was amazing since at 7 weeks pp I had my gallbladder removed. Super glad I wasn't told to wait. Hey over supply is frozen supply woo woo!

yes! I was so surprised.. she was born on Wednesday and Thursday afternoon the lactation consultant came by to see me and she was checking them and after she felt them she said my milk was starting to come in! I was like whoa... I hope it does too for you! I feel better knowing she's actually getting milk because I couldn't really tell if she was getting the colostrum or not.. @emkasting
Your milk came in pretty quickly then didn't it? I hope mine comes in that fast!
@emkasting, I've heard it can cause oversupply which can make it hard for baby to latch but it's not too big of a problem so I'm going to try my ice pack things before I do try pumping some out but goodness... it looks and feels like I have huge implants 😂😂 😂
Do what you gotta do darlin
I've never heard that you shouldn't pump until 6 weeks pp...? like ever...
Sorry. Just trying to be helpful. Hand expressing is very ifficult. Best of luck!
@meagansimone, well considering my daughter can't nurse because my breasts are too full, I do need to use the pump. hand expression isn't working for me. thank you for trying to be helpful, but I really wasn't asking for anyone's advice..
You shouldn't pump until 6 weeks pp or 2 weeks before you go to work unless you're exclusively pumping
