My husband and I have decided that we are NOT going to circumcise our son. My husbands isn't and he's never had any problems, plus it's just not medically necessary... Why put the kiddo through pain like that all for cosmetic reasons.

I chose to get my boy circumcized, but I think its fine to choose either way. They did numb him, they gave him liquid Tylenol, applied Lidocaine to his bits, and then a local injected anesthetic before starting. He didn't cry or even flinch after it happened, and it didn't seem to bother him any afterward. He's healed up very nicely. I support the choice not to, I just wanted to point out that it isn't always butchered.

Exactly @lumbeemama Why hurt our precious little ones just for cosmetic reasons.
@juliakoren, I agree. I've gotten flack from my mom and her boyfriend, and other family members, along with people who aren't family. It's ridiculous. I think it's traumatizing. Why introduce a precious baby into the world with such painful welcome? If my son wants a circumcision when he is old enough to decide for himself, that will be completely different. As for now, there's no need:)
Luckily, my fiance doesn't care, even though he is circumcised, but after research & me putting my foot down, we both agreed not to circumcise our son.
I'm on team leave my little man just the way he is
Well they might when they get the insurance bill because most insurances call it cosmetic now.
@lumbeemama, it's real nice seeing that not alone in how I feel. @optimusviolet it's so culturally accepted that it's hard to get some people to change their minds unfortunately
@nicole021995, I've seen it done in person while I was in nursing school, it broke my heart. I swear that doctor didn't even numb him or anything.
I'm part of the "not going to" group also. So unnecessary.
I'm not doing that to my son either I saw a video and poor babies they suffer a lot like why would I put my son through that and also my husband isn't so I don't see why I should do it to my son
I feel as long as you teach them to clean their junk then there shouldn't be an issue lol @mommyoftwo35
I honestly don't wanna put my son through all of that but my boyfriend wants to since he is :/
One of my close friends had her sons done and the scar tissue healed over the tip and caused issues. She had to put steroid cream on it every day to get the scar tissue to soften up. It was horrible! @izamarpink
same here, my man isn't so our son won't. he said he's easier to take care of lol
Same here not my first or my second. Seems painful and actually I read the extra skin can protect. Besides it is our choice lol 👦🏻👶🏻❤️
