I have a friend that's almost 20 weeks pregnant and has been doing pain pills, she asked me how far back do they check the baby's cord blood for the drug. What should I tell her?

They don't care about the excuses they care about the safety of the baby

It all depends how long the stuff stays in the babies system but they are drug testing her at every apt and if she doesn't stop by her 3rd apt they are going to take up a case behind her back with cps and her baby will be taken from her at the hospital
@mommytoprinceaiden092915, @kenitra @mommytoabel I think she meant when the baby is born like at how many weeks back do they test the first poop And the cord blood I just talked to her and she said she heard at 21 weeks and I. told her she needs to stop she said she just hurts all the time. I didn't wanna start a fight so I said I hurt to but I don't do that stuff.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think they have no way of testing for pharma drugs only narcotics.
And @mommytoprinceaiden092915 is right. They drug test throughout the entire pregnancy whether you know about it or not.
This is horrible. I just can't believe someone would make that choice. Don't have a baby if you can't do the right thing.
They can and probably drug test each prenatal visit. I know I get sampled each visit.... That's really sad.. :-/ hope she can find the strength for her baby.
She's right plus cord blood is different
I believe after 3 fails they will report it to the state and she might have her baby taken away as soon as it's born and she will get put in jail
They drug test as soon as she does her first ob appointment and will continue to weather they tell her or not, and if she keeps failing they will put her under investigation with CPS when the baby comes
she shouldn't be doing them:/
