for the 1st time in 8yrs.. I seriously considered getting rid of my dog... smh I feel guilty for such a thought.. thats my baby, I got her at 2months old... BUT she bit my daughter just now.. FIRST TIME EVER! .. it all seemed accidental( kitten scratched dog and dog went to attack but my daughter tried to calm my dog while she was in attack) but it still hurt my heart.. my baby adores her "good puppies" and idk what to do!

my dog is always minding her business and whenever the baby approaches her she right away rolls over for belly rubs.. this dog has been in her life since birth! nothing like this happened b4 and i feel so bad for how guilty my doggy looks now.. shes a German Shepard lab mix.. btw.. she did cut through skin and thats the only reason the thought of getting rid of her occurred.. i do believe it was an accident because the kitty is new in the home and keeps attacking the dog.. @sorayma11 @eskawho

honestly it's not the dogs fault :( I used to train dogs i always found it hard to understand them, some are super aggressive some friendly some some unpredictable. the only reason why i got into dog psychology in the first place. they just feel threatened even thought it's toward the kids the kids should leave dog alone unless the dog comes to you for attention. do what you have to do! if it's not safe no reason for you to have the pet. but understand its not the dogs fault :/ poor babies, both your daughter and the doggie :(

I can understand. it definitely sounds like it was an accident and wasn't directed at your little girl.

@eskawho they been with her since birth.. the one bit her use to guide her when she was going mobile very protective of her.. didn't let strangers near her.. kiss/lick her when she was sick or crying.. never even growled at her or anything.. she walks them sometimes with me.. holding the leash and everything and she walks beside her... this was an accident but freaked me out :/

I've had the same thought...my dog didn't bite but when my baby started to really get mobile she would always go after the dog and pull his hair and usually he's ok with it until one day she started toward him and his growled at her. I smack him (not hard or anything) and told my husband he does it again he's gone. I've had him since he was 12 weeks old and he's almost 8 years now. I feel awful I had that thought but I also can't take the chance. he hasn't done it again, thank God. your situation is different and sounds like it was an accident but I would have said the same.
