Hi I'm really worried took our son to the farm today where u feed the animals, I smoothed a sheep and fed it once then my husband spotted the sign pregnant women should not touch the sheep I washed my hands straight away 😩 I'm really worried now I'm nearly 12 weeks xx

Hi, I was volunteering at a farm working with all animals and then I found out I was pregnant! Had to let them know straight away. This was when I was between 4-5 weeks pregnant. I'm now 10 weeks. The guy I worked with said it's fine to be around the animals but not to touch or cuddle them. I would never put my hands anywhere near my mouth until I've washed my hands anyway. I had to obviously stop working at the farm because I had close contact with them all the time and their poop. Very sad :( I will go back to it though after I have my baby :)

Thank you for the reply, trust me to feed and smooth the sheep of all the animals that were there lol!! Got me so worried when I seen the sign xx

ive been to farms in and out of lambing season and have had no ill effect as practice thorough handwashing x
