Pregnancy Brain and Other Problems Women With a Bump Have to Deal With

Tiffany Melius sent us the funniest video of her struggles with pregnancy that we absolutely had to share with you. She’s currently 26 weeks pregnant and a comedic actress living in Los Angeles with her husband and their small “farm” – with a husky, lots of cats, and bunnies. This September, the farm gets bigger with its first human addition.

Pregnancy for me has been weird. I find myself rubbing my belly and talking to the baby, and then the next second I feel it kick and then roll and elbow me and I feel all sci-fi about the whole thing. Then I wonder…what does it look like in there for the baby? It’s kind of crazy to think about a human just living in your belly going about its day as I go about mine. It’s so hard to describe. I’m overwhelmed by the whole miracle of the body just going through the stages all on its own, but also freaked out by it. I also have serious apprehension about how the baby will get out of there. My husband told me the story of SemiSonic’s “Closing Time” and how it’s about the lead singer’s wife having a baby, and now all I want to do is play that song on repeat when September comes.

I think the best advice I could have for people (I mean PEOPLE, not preggies) is be mindful of what you are saying to pregnant ladies. Now that I am a pregnant lady I completely understand how inappropriate everyone is about how they approach preggies.

Would you like a complete stranger asking you personal things? Probably not. And for preggies, I’d say having two friends pregnant at the same time as me has really relaxed me through this whole thing. We text all the time about what people say to us, what we feel like, how we can NOT drink together, and the support and bonding means the world to me. And if you don’t have a pregnant friend (which is something I’ve always wanted…pregnancy pact – get preggers together!) just sign up for the mom.life app. You can download the free app here.

Being that this is Tiffany’s first venture into baby land, pregnancy has been quite an experience, and she needs to tell someone about it! You can follow her pregnancy journey on her blog “Getting Catty with Tiffany,” which was an off shoot of her one woman show “Confessions of a Cat Lady (with a side of crazy!)” but is currently sporting the title “Confessions of a Pregnant Lady (with a side of panic)” – appropriately named for her honest comedic approach to life. Check out the baby announcement inspired by their Comic Con cosplay as Captain America & Black Widow (below) and stay tuned for the debut of their Comic Con 2015 cosplay…yes, pregnant cosplay. Just you wait!
